"Pet Tales: Friday Edition".
This is the tale of Florentine and her kittens. Sadly these little darlings were dumped on the side of the road. With persistent effort and care of good samaritans in the area this mama cat and her kittens were trapped one at a time and cared for until they could be transported to a shelter. They ended up in Truckee but as they were found in Nevada County NC Animal Control went and picked them up and brought them to us.
The kitties were not in horrible shape but they needed some care to treat upper respiratory issues and severe eye infections. Mama Florentine has evidence of a past injury that likely broke her jaw and caused her to loose an eye. She, like most moms is extremely resilient, and is a lovely, friendly kitty with a sweet disposition. Her kittens are working on trusting people - can you blame them for their lack of confidence in the human race?
Typically we share a story of how your donated funds are used at the shelter. The rescuing and treatment of these cats was not a huge cost to the shelter but the time, effort, coordination and care that was taken to get these cats safely under shelter care deserves a mention! Thanks to all that volunteered and helped this kitty family on their adventure to a new happy, healthy life.
