All donations to Sammie's Friends go to the direct support of animals at the Nevada County Animal Shelter and community animals who have no other way to receive veterinary care.

Do you shop at SPD?  Let us register you at SPD so that every time you shop a 3% contribution will be made in your name to Sammie's Friends... all with NO COST to you!  Sammie's Friends receives over $30,000 a year thanks to our local shoppers!  Sign-up for eScrip, choose Sammie's Friends as your charity and raise funds for the shelter every time you go grocery shopping at SPD!

By including Sammie’s Friends in your will, you will be able to continue providing support for the homeless pets at the Nevada County Animal Shelter. You can make your bequest for a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate or specific assets from your estate.

 

Your first step should be to speak with your attorney or Estate planner and advise them of your wishes.

Avoid capital gains taxes by transferring appreciated securities to Sammie's Friends. You will also receive a tax deduction based on the value of the securities at the time of transfer.

If you own a life insurance policy you no longer need, you can donate the policy to Sammie's Friends.

If you have a used car you no longer use or want, donating it to Sammie's Friends is fast and easy.  Save yourself the trouble of selling it AND help Nevada County animals.  The donation company will arrange to pick up your vehicle, handle the title transfer, and provide you with a tax-deductible donation receipt -all at no cost to you.

The shelter is always accepting and appreciative of any donation for our residents.
We constantly find ourselves low on many items that make our sheltered pets lives

so much nicer.
 

Canned food: Any kind and variety.

The dogs, cats, kittens and puppies all appreciated it!

Treats: Any kind, any variety - mostly large dog but our kitties enjoy treats too!

Toys: One could get bored sitting in a cage all day.

Beds: Kuranda bed makes an elevated, durable bed that is cool in the summer
and warmer in the winter.

(These nice people give a discount for shelter bed purchases.)
